XMC overview
XMC helps protect your mobile devices and gives you support when something goes wrong. XMC covers repairs, replacements, and technical help so you can get back up and running quickly and avoid high repair costs.
Members on our latest pricing plan with the Mobile Plus plan have XMC Plus included* at no extra cost. This includes coverage for all eligible connected smartwatches and tablets on your account. See the table below for more details:

XMC enrollment
XMC Plus
If you are a Mobile Plus member who has XMC Plus included with your plan your newly purchased device from Xfinity is automatically covered.
If you brought your own device (BYOD) to Xfinity Mobile on the Mobile Plus plan, or if your device did not have XMC before, you must wait 30 days after enrollment for all XMC Plus benefits to start. This includes devices brought from another carrier.
- If your BYOD device already had XMC before you switched to the Mobile Plus plan, there is no waiting period.
During the 30‑day waiting period:
- Accidental damage and loss are not covered.
- Any claims for accidental damage made during this time will be denied by Assurant, and you’ll receive an explanation.
- Warranty, mechanical breakdown, and theft coverage start right away.
XMC
You can enroll in XMC when you purchase your device or up to 30 days after you activate your device.
- Eligible members can get XMC through:

- xfinity.com/mobile.

- visiting an Xfinity Retail Store or calling 1-888-936-4968.
- the Xfinity app.
If you are already enrolled in XMC and get a replacement device after filing a claim, the replacement will be automatically enrolled.
XMC billing
XMC Plus
- If you have XMC Plus it will show as included with your Mobile Plus line and for all connected devices (smartwatches and tablets).
- If you cancel or downgrade your last Mobile Plus line, connected device coverage will stop at the end of the billing cycle.
- If you cancel or downgrade, you will have the option to add XMC coverage on all eligible devices.
- Billing for the new plan would start at the beginning of your next bill cycle.
XMC
- The monthly cost of XMC, plus applicable tax, per device, will appear as an individual line item on your Xfinity Mobile bill.
You'll be charged any applicable service fees and/or deductibles directly by Assurant once your claims are approved.

Xfinity Mobile Care app
You can make the most of your plan with live support, optimization, and plan management features included in the XMC app. Features include:
- Technical support: Live support is available from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. ET, seven days a week, except major holidays.
- Just tap the support icon in the XMC app.
- Optimization: How-to and troubleshooting guides.
- Plan management: Access to coverage documents, claim filing, and service fees/deductibles.

Cancellation policy
XMC Plus
XMC Plus is an included benefit of the Mobile Plus plan and cannot be canceled.
XMC Plus is only available on devices linked with active lines of service. If you deactivate your line of service, coverage on your device is automatically canceled.
XMC
You can cancel XMC at any time. To learn about ways to cancel, visit xfinity.com/cancel, chat with Xfinity, or call 1-888-936-4968. XMC renews monthly until you cancel. You may get a prorated refund for the unused part of the month, as required by law. You will get a notice before coverage is canceled for nonpayment, as required by state law.
XMC applies only to devices with an active Xfinity Mobile line. If you cancel your line, XMC coverage ends automatically. You can re-enroll a device only within 30 days of activation or during open enrollment.
Satisfaction guarantee
We want you to feel confident that Xfinity Mobile is the right fit for you. You can return your device within 14 days of shipment. If you return it within that time and don’t file a claim, XMC cancels automatically and you receive a refund.

FAQs
What does “device protection for life” mean with XMC Plus?
Device protection for life with XMC Plus means you keep device protection as long as at least one phone line on your account is on a Mobile Plus plan.
Your covered devices include:
- Your smartphone on the Mobile Plus line.
- Any tablets and smartwatches on your Xfinity Mobile account.
XMC Plus includes help for things like accidental damage, broken screens, device problems, and loss or theft. New devices you buy from Xfinity are covered automatically. If you BYOD to Xfinity Mobile on a Mobile Plus plan, certain XMC Plus benefits start 30 days after you enroll.
If you change plans, remove your Mobile Plus line, or no longer qualify, your device protection may end. For more details on what’s included with XMC, see the XMC overview.
Does XMC also cover all my accessories?
XMC and XMC Plus cover your cellular-enabled mobile device, standard battery, standard charger and SIM (if applicable to your device). Accessories included in the original device packaging, such as a stylus pen, are covered in the event of an incident simultaneously affecting both the device and the accessory.
What isn't covered by XMC or XMC Plus?
Losses caused by or resulting from abuse; misuse; service performed by anyone not authorized by Assurant; intentional or cosmetic damage; pre-existing conditions; manufacturer’s recall; certain acts of God; consequential damages; claims as a result of setup, installation, or data restoration; and losses covered under a manufacturer’s warranty.

Is XMC available for all Xfinity Mobile devices?
XMC is available for Apple and Android devices purchased from Xfinity, or for members who brought an eligible device to Xfinity Mobile. This includes smartphones and cellular-enabled smartwatches and tablets connected to an active Xfinity Mobile line.
Does my automobile or homeowners insurance cover my wireless device?
Your automobile or homeowner’s insurance policy may cover your device, but XMC would be primary to any such coverage for members who have an active Xfinity Mobile line and enrolled into XMC.
How can I get plan details?

Who can enroll in XMC?
Members with an active Xfinity Mobile line who purchase a smartphone, smartwatch, or tablet through Xfinity Mobile or bring an eligible device, can enroll in the plan.
Can my old device stay enrolled in XMC if I give it to a family member or friend to use on another line?
No. Currently, XMC coverage cannot be transferred to a different line, even on the same account. In the instance of a physical SIM swap (when you move your physical SIM from your current device to a temporary device), XMC coverage does not transfer to your temporary device.
Do I need to pay for a full year of coverage upfront?
No. XMC is billed on a month-to-month basis. It continues unless canceled. The monthly cost is $9, $15, $17, or $19, plus applicable tax, per device, depending on device. Find the monthly cost for your device. XMC Plus is included with the billing for your Mobile Plus line.
How will I know if my smartphone is eligible for a $0 screen-only repair?
All smartphone devices enrolled in XMC are eligible for $0 screen repairs at Assurant-authorized repair centers when and where available. When filing a claim, you’ll be given repair or replacement options.
What kind of technical support will I receive?
Android and Apple members enrolled in XMC also have access to unlimited support in the XMC app.
You’ll receive unlimited live technical support for your mobile device as well as most of your smart devices like your laptop, TV, and gaming system. Whether you want to control your lights from your voice-enabled wireless speaker or access your thermostat from your mobile device, a live tech pro can assist. Technical support can help:
- Setup, install, or troubleshoot your devices including phones, tablets, and laptops.
- Figure out your device-to-device connectivity.
- Create smart device groupings and set up voice commands to control your smart home.
- Navigate through Bluetooth, WiFi, and much more.
- Help you with tools, tips and tricks to work, teach, or learn from home.
How do I access technical support?
Tap the Live Support icon in the XMC app to call or chat with a specialist.
Specialists are available every day from 8 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. ET, seven days a week.
Specialists are not available on these days: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
How do I optimize my device’s performance?
Once you have registered the XMC app, you’ll enjoy the following features that will optimize the performance of your device:
- Unlimited live technical support for nearly any device in the home.
