Many municipalities require that you obtain an alarm registration or permit for your home security system. You should check with your municipality to find out what requirements they have and ask questions about the permit or registration.
Most of these municipalities will assess fines against you if you don't have the proper permit or registration. Other municipalities may even delay emergency response or refuse to send emergency personnel if you don't obtain the correct permit and provide the permit number to Comcast.
To ensure the dispatch of emergency personnel, you must update your Xfinity Home permit information with your permit number using the Xfinity Home app or the Xfinity app. Unless otherwise indicated, it's your responsibility to obtain the permit or registration and renew it, as required by local law. You should contact your local municipality with any questions.
