Xfinity Voice customers can get transcripts of their voicemail using the readable voicemail feature. This feature:
- Converts your voicemail to text using automated speech recognition.
- The maximum length is three minutes.
- Is helpful for those customers who may be deaf, hard of hearing or have a hearing disability.
Xfinity Voice transcriptions are created by software and are not without errors. Accuracy is affected by:
- Background noise.
- Multiple people speaking at once.
- Call quality.
- Accented speech.
- Unfamiliar words or slang.
Turn on or off
- Sign in to Xfinity Voice using your Xfinity ID and password.
- You must be the Primary user or a Manager.
- Managers, the Primary user must give you access to Voice Features before you can access voicemail online.
- Click the Settings icon at the top of the page.
- Choose Settings.
- Select Voicemail Notifications from the left. From here, you can:
- Turn on transcripts that can be viewed in the Voice tab.
- Enter an email address to get notified when you have a voicemail.
- Get a copy of the readable voicemail text in your email. It can be attached to or displayed within the message.

To turn off readable voicemail feature, repeat the steps above. Be sure Enable voicemail transcription shows Off.
How to access
- Sign in to Xfinity Voice using your Xfinity ID and password.
- You must be the Primary user or a Manager.
- Managers, the Primary user must give you access to Voice Features before you can access voicemail online.
- Select Voicemail from the left.
- You’ll see the transcript below the phone number.
- You may need to select Read Full Transcript for longer messages.
- Click the call to read your voicemail transcript on the right side of the screen.
