Controlling Your Lights and Appliances

With Xfinity Home, you can control your lights or outlet controllers from the Xfinity Home app. With Xfinity Internet, you can currently control only LIFX, Lutron Caseta and Philips Hue lights.

  1. Sign in to the Xfinity Home app.
  2. On the Overview screen, scroll down to the Lights section.
    • If you have up to three lights, they will be listed individually.
The Overview screen of the Xfinity Home app.
    • If you have four or more lights, tap the Lights tile to see a list of all of your Lights.
The Lights tile in the Xfinity Home app.
    • LIFX Light Bulbs, Lutron Caseta Wireless Lights and Philips Hue Lights are grouped separately from other lighting devices; therefore, you may see two Lights tiles, one for LIFX, Lutron and Philips Lights and one for other Lights.
  3. The Lights screen shows the status of all of the Light Switches, Light Bulbs, and Lighting/Appliance/Outlet Controllers in your system. The same light bulb icon represents all of these device types.
    • Turn individual devices on and off by tapping the light bulb next to the device name.
    • Tap All On to turn on all of the devices; tap All Off to turn off all of the devices.
The Lights screen in the Xfinity Home app.
    • Set the brightness of dimmable lights by sliding the dimmer control to the right to turn the brightness up, or to the left to turn it down.
    • The light bulb icon for LIFX and Philips Hue bulbs are the same color as the color chosen for the light.
Did You Know? Only lights connected to a dimmable Light Switch, plug-in dimmer or an Xfinity Home Lighting/Appliance Controller can be dimmed. LIFX, Sengled and Philips Hue light bulbs can also be dimmed. Lights connected to an Outlet Controller or to a regular on/off Light Switch cannot be dimmed.

That's it!
