What is a Scene?

A scene is a command you create to enable devices connected to your Xfinity system to perform a group of actions in a single step. Scenes are very flexible - you can customize existing scenes or create scenes from scratch. Scenes fit your schedule - you can tap to run scenes immediately or set them to run automatically at a time and day of your choice.

How Scenes Can Help You?

Scenes save you time and effort by simplifying your routine. Instead of doing your usual tasks one at a time, such as turning off Lights, setting the Thermostat to Away, and turning video recording on - just tap Leaving and go! No more wondering if you turned off the bedroom light on your way out the door.

Scenes aren't just for routine activities. Hear a strange noise in the night? Create a custom scene to turn on the Lights and start video recording.

Parts of a Scene

Each scene is made up of devices and actions grouped under a name and icon. All parts can be customized. Let's look at the devices and actions in a scene for an example morning routine.

Devices

Any supported device connected to your Xfinity system can be added to a scene. Currently, supported devices include some 24/7 Video Recording compatible Cameras, Carrier Cor, ecobee and Nest Thermostats, all light switches, all light bulbs, all Lighting/Outlet Controllers, all Works with Xfinity compatible Lights and your Security System.

Actions
The available actions depend on the device. Video recording and Lights can be turned on or off. Thermostats can be set to Home or Away. Your Security System can be armed and disarmed.

We're always working on improving scenes, so check the app to see which devices are supported and what actions are available.

Scheduling Scenes

Scenes can run at a tap or be scheduled to run automatically at a specific time and on selected days. If a scene includes your security system, you'll need to enter your four-digit Master Keypad Code when you schedule the scene, but you won't have to enter it when the scene runs at the scheduled time.
Your scene will begin at the selected time unless you change it
