Manage thermostat settings from the Xfinity Home touchscreen

Learn how to use your Xfinity Home touchscreen to manage your Xfinity Home thermostat settings and keep your home temperature just where you want it.

What you'll need

  • Xfinity Home
  • Access to your Xfinity Home touchscreen.

What does your touchscreen look like?

If your Home screen looks similar to either screen below, go to Managing thermostat settings.

Managing thermostat settings

  1. Depending on your Home screen, swipe up to open the Dashboard or tap the Dashboard icon (four squares on the upper-left.)
  2. On the Dashboard screen, tap a thermostat.

  3. On the Thermostats screen, you'll see a box for each of your thermostats.

    • Need to change the target temperature?
      • The temperature icon (the small orange or blue circle) shows the current target temperature.
      • To change it, tap the plus (+) and minus (-) signs, or drag the temperature icon around the circle to your desired temperature.
    • Want to change the mode?
      • The icon beneath the temperature represents the thermostat's current mode: Cool, Heat, or Off.
      • Tap the current mode icon to display icons for the other modes.
        • Tap the Cool icon to set the thermostat to Cool mode.

        • Tap the Heat icon to set the thermostat to Heat mode.

        • Tap the Off icon to turn the thermostat off.

      • Want to change the display to Celsius? Tap °C.
        • To change back to Fahrenheit, tap °F.
  4. To run the fan continuously or maintain the current temperature, tap the Settings icon Settings icon..
  5. On the Device Settings screen:
    • Next to Fan, tap On to have it run continuously, even when your system is not actively heating or cooling.
      • Tap Auto to have the fan run only while the system is heating or cooling.
    • Next to Hold Temp, tap the On/Off switch to On to maintain the current temperature and prevent your thermostat schedule from changing it.
      • Keep in mind that holding your home at one temperature can result in higher heating and cooling bills.
      • Tap the On/Off switch to Off to reactivate your schedule.

Managing thermostat settings (Icons)

  1. On the Home screen, tap Thermostats.

  2. The Thermostats screen shows the current temperature, mode, and target temperature for your thermostat.
    • If you just want to change the target temperature (on the right), tap the plus (+) and minus (-) arrows.

Want to change the mode? The buttons at the top control the thermostat mode. Tap OFF to turn the thermostat off. Tap Cool to set the thermostat to Cool mode. Tap Heat to set the thermostat to Heat mode.

Want to maintain the current temperature? Under Hold Temp, tap the ON/OFF switch to ON to maintain the current temperature and prevent your thermostat schedule from changing it. (Keep in mind that holding your home at one temperature can result in higher heating and cooling bills.) Tap the ON/OFF switch to OFF to reactivate your schedule.

Want to run the fan? Under Fan, tap the ON/OFF switch to ON to have the fan run continuously, even when your system is not actively heating or cooling. Tap the ON/OFF switch to OFF to have the fan run only while the system is heating or cooling.

Want to change the display to Celsius? Tap the F°/C° button in the Current Temp box to switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius.
