How to search with your X1 TV Box

Using the search bar

1. Press the xfinity button on the remote.
2. Use the arrow buttons to move to Search and press OK.
   
3. Use your voice: Use the Voice Remote to search instead of typing with the number keys.
   • When dictation mode is active, the Mic Open icon appears in the search bar.
   • Dictation mode works only when the search keyboard is displayed.
   • If you move away from the keyboard and speak a command, the remote works as it normally does outside the search menu.
4. Use the arrow buttons:
   • On the remote, use the left and right arrows to select the first letter of your search
   • Press OK to choose the letter.
   • As you enter characters, they'll appear at the top of the screen.
   • The search will suggest matching titles or apps as you type.
     
     
     • Use the character to the right of Z to enter a space.
     • To choose a number or special character, go to ?123 and press OK. Then highlight the character you want and press OK.
     • Highlight ABC to go back to the alphabetical list.
5. Repeat to choose more letters.
   
6. Press the down arrow, then use the left and right arrows to highlight a search result and press OK.
7. Use the keypad's alphanumeric keys to enter your search term. For example, to search for "NOVA" enter 6682. 
8. Use the 0 button to enter a space. 
9. As you enter numbers, they'll appear at the top of the screen. The search will suggest titles or apps that match your entry so far.
   
   • To go back to the search results list, press the Last button (or back arrow).
10. To leave the Search screen, press Exit.
    

Search while watching live TV using the remote keypad

1. While watching live TV, press the number buttons on your remote to open the Search box. As you enter more numbers, Search suggests shows that match your entry.
   
   • For example, if you press 5-2-0-5-2-0, which corresponds to L-A-L-A, the movie La La Land appears.
     
2. Press OK on your remote to open the La La Land page, or press Exit to close the Search box.
