Apple TV offers award-winning Apple Original series and films, including dramas, comedies, and sci-fi. There are new Apple Originals added every month.
Major League Soccer (MLS) Season Pass update: Beginning with the 2026 season, MLS is making all matches available exclusively through Apple TV. MLS Season Pass will no longer be offered as a separate subscription.
To use the Apple TV app, you will need:
- A compatible X1 TV Box, Xumo Stream Box, or a streaming TV Box with Xfinity Flex.
- RNG150, Pace and Arris XG1v1, Arris Gen 2, Samsung XG2v2, and Pace Xi3 X1 TV Boxes and Pace Xi5 Flex streaming TV Boxes are not supported.
- Xfinity Flex is no longer available for new customers.
- Xumo Stream Box from Xfinity is the newest streaming device for new Xfinity Internet customers.

- Any level of Xfinity Internet.

Access the Apple TV app on X1, Xumo Stream Box, and Xfinity Flex
The easiest way to access the Apple TV app is by saying “Launch Apple TV app” into your Xfinity Voice Remote.
Sign up and log in to the Apple TV app on X1, Xumo Stream Box, and Xfinity Flex
- Launch the Apple TV app.
- You can Explore Apple TV or Sign In to the Apple TV app.
- If you already have an account, select Sign in and press OK on your remote to enter the app. Sign in using your Apple ID and password.
- If you don’t yet have an account with Apple TV, select Explore Apple TV and press OK on your remote.
- An Activation Code and a QR Code will display. You can either:
- Choose to use a browser on your PC or mobile device and enter the activation code at activate.apple.com to link your device, or
- Capture the QR code using your mobile phone camera or QR code reader to access Apple’s sign-in or sign-up flow.

- Follow the on-screen prompts to set up your billing details to complete your subscription.

Sign up for Apple TV billed through Xfinity
If you are new to Apple TV
- Visit xfinity.com to manage your subscriptions.
- Note: You will need to be logged in to your Xfinity account.
- Select the services you would like to add.
- Visit xfinity.com/yoursubscriptions.
- This link will also be sent to your primary email address listed on your account once you purchase your subscription to Apple TV.
- Note: You will need to be logged in to your Xfinity account.
- You’ll reach the Xfinity StreamStore, where you can easily activate and manage your streaming subscriptions. Click Activate next to Apple TV.
- You will be re-directed to Apple TV app. Click Continue.

- Enter the email address you’d like to use for your Apple TV account. Then, click Continue and follow the on-screen prompts.
- Note: If you are using an Apple device to activate, you are not required to sign in with your Apple ID.
Note: If you already have an Apple TV subscription with another provider or Apple One, manage your account with the service provider to avoid duplicate subscriptions.

Once you’ve logged in to the Apple TV app and have successfully synced your account, you can browse Apple Originals, movies, and TV shows, or search from the Apple TV app home page.

MLS — How to watch
You can now get access to MLS content directly through Apple TV on your Xfinity TV Box or in the Xfinity Stream app. Including the Leagues Cup, the entire Audi MLS Cup Playoffs, and All-Star game with no blackouts.
Note: To watch these MLS channels, you need an Apple TV subscription. That subscription must either be billed through Xfinity, or you must link your Apple TV account to Xfinity if you’re billed by Apple.
Watch on the X1 guide
- Select any of the 30 MLS on Apple TV channels (15 in English, 15 in Spanish) from the X1 linear grid guide. Select a game to watch.
Note: Not subscribed to Apple TV? A message appears about how to subscribe. - The MLS live game will instantly play on your TV.
- Select the MLS 360 channel (channel 1220).
- MLS 360 is a whiparound channel featuring pregame, postgame and live look-ins.
- Select the MLS 360 channel and the live coverage will instantly play back on your TV.
Notes:
- DVR is currently unavailable for internet-delivered channels on X1.
- Watching MLS games on X1 will count against your monthly internet data usage.
- MLS game channels might keep playing and using internet data for up to five hours after you turn off your device, depending on the television or other device you are using.
- To make sure streaming MLS game channels does not continue using your internet when you're not watching:
- If you accessed the channel through the grid guide, please switch to a different channel that does not have an internet badge before turning off the device, or
- If you accessed the streaming channel through the Xfinity Stream app or portal, log out of the app or portal.

MLS on Apple TV collection page: Say "MLS on Apple TV" into your Voice Remote or text search "MLS Season Pass" by pressing the Xfinity button on your remote and selecting Search to access the MLS on Apple TV Collection page.
Watch on Xfinity Stream
On the Xfinity Stream portal and app, MLS Season Pass channels appear in the grid guide after the MLS360 channel. To find them quickly, you can type "MLS" on the Browse tab or into the Find bar while on the Live TV tab.
Xfinity Stream may keep playing content and using Internet data even if you turn off your device (depending on the television or other device you are using). To make sure a streaming channel doesn’t continue using your internet when you're not watching, log out of the app or portal.

Major League Baseball (MLB) Friday Night Baseball — How to watch
Starting with the 2026 season, Friday Night Baseball will expand to include two new channels. Friday Night Baseball is a live broadcast of MLB games that debuted during the league’s 2022 season on Apple TV+. The weekly broadcast is produced by MLB Network and features a doubleheader, along with pregame and postgame analysis.
Members can watch Friday Night Baseball on the following new channels:
- FNB HD on channel 3996
- FNB 2 HD on channel 3997
These channels are available on Xfinity X1 TV boxes or Xfinity Stream.
Note: To watch these two Friday Night Baseball channels, you need an Apple TV subscription. That subscription must either be billed through Xfinity, or you must link your Apple TV account to Xfinity if you’re billed by Apple.
Formula 1 — How to watch
Starting with the 2026 season, Apple TV is the exclusive home for Formula 1 in the U.S., featuring live coverage of all 24 Grands Prix, qualifying, and practice sessions.
Formula 1 coverage can be found on the new channel called F1 TV on channel 3990. Which is available for members subscribed to Apple TV with an Xfinity X1 box or Xfinity Stream.
Note: To watch the Formula 1 channel, you need an Apple TV subscription. That subscription must either be billed through Xfinity, or you must link your Apple TV account to Xfinity if you’re billed by Apple.
Parental control settings
- Access to the Apple TV app can be locked by using an Application Lock.
- The Apple TV app is rated as TV-MA, so locking TV-MA under X1 Settings > Parental Controls > TV Rating Locks will also require the use of a parental control PIN to access.
- In addition, Apple TV has its own parental control settings you can access and modify.
Note: Once the Apple TV app is launched, your X1, Xumo Stream Box, or Flex parental controls settings will not guard against searches or playback within the app.
FAQs
Why can’t I access the Apple TV app on my X1 TV Box?
The app isn’t compatible with RNG150, Pace Xi3, Samsung XG2v2, Arris and Pace XG1v1 X1, and Arris Gen 2 TV Boxes. If you have one of these, you can exchange it on X1 by choosing the Apple TV app tile and following the prompts to swap out your TV Box. Why can’t I access the Apple TV app on my Flex streaming TV Box?
The app isn’t compatible with Pace Flex Xi5 streaming TV Boxes. If you have one of these, you can exchange it on Flex by choosing the Apple TV app tile and following the prompts to swap out your streaming TV Box. Please note that you also need a subscription to Apple TV to access content within the app.
How many devices on my account can stream Apple TV app at once?
Currently, you can have up to six simultaneous streams with Apple TV.
If I sign in to the Apple TV app on one TV Box in my home, do I have to sign in again on a different TV Box in my home?
Yes, you will have to sign in to the Apple TV app separately on each of the TV Boxes in your home.
Does watching content on these apps count against my Xfinity Internet data usage?
Yes. Because content from these apps is delivered over your Xfinity Internet service, it's subject to the same rules, terms and conditions that affect Xfinity Internet service, including any data usage plans that may apply.

Yes.
Is Apple TV in 4K?
4K content is available if you use the Apple TV app on X1 and have an Xi6 or XiOne TV Box, or on Flex with an Xi6 or XiOne streaming TV Box (along with a compatible 4K or 4K/HDR TV).
Note: 4K content on the Apple TV app on X1 is not available on XG1v4 X1 TV Boxes.
How can I access the free sampled content?
Xfinity is not currently offering a promotion. Check out the Apple TV website for their promotions.
Will my Apple TV charge be on my Comcast bill?
Yes, you will see a charge for Apple TV on their Xfinity bill when they order through xfinity.com or through an agent. If you subscribed through Apple directly for Apple TV, it will not appear on your Xfinity bill and any billing-related questions should be directed to Apple TV support.
How can I manage my Apple TV subscription, including cancellations?
If billed through Xfinity for Apple TV, you can cancel their subscription on xfinity.com or through an Xfinity Representative.

Linking your Apple TV account lets you watch Apple TV content — such as MLS, Formula 1, and Friday Night Baseball — directly on your Xfinity X1 TV Box or in the Xfinity Stream app, using an existing Apple TV subscription that’s billed by Apple.
Is there a charge to link my Apple TV account?
No. There is no cost to link your existing Apple TV subscription to Xfinity. You’ll continue to be billed by Apple, and your subscription details won’t change.
How do I block access to this app?
There are several ways you can set parental controls for these apps:
- Block content by selecting Settings > Parental Controls > TV Rating Locks > TV-MA.
