In some cases, a voicemail that was deleted by mistake can be restored before it is permanently deleted. Follow the steps below to recover a deleted voicemail using your home phone or the Xfinity Voice website.
Recover by phone
A deleted voicemail can be restored:
- During the voicemail call when the message was deleted.
- Once you exit the system by hanging up or logging out (option 5), all messages marked for deletion are removed from the server. They can’t be recovered.
- If it hasn’t been deleted from Trash.
- A message deleted from Trash permanently removes the file from the server. It can’t be recovered.
- A message is automatically deleted 24 to 48 hours after it is placed in the Trash folder.
To restore a voicemail while still in the voicemail system:
- Press * to go to the Main Menu.
- Press 6 to hear the deleted messages.
- The system starts to play the deleted messages.
After listening to the message, you can:
- Press 9 to mark the deleted message as a new message.
- Press # to skip to the next message.
- Press 0 for more options.
- Press * to go back to the Main Menu.
Once you log out of the voicemail system, the deleted messages will be removed permanently.
Recover using the Xfinity Voice website
When a message is deleted, it is moved into the Trash folder.
To recover one deleted voicemail:
- Sign in to Xfinity Voice using your Xfinity ID and password.
- You must be the Primary user or a Manager.
- Managers, the Primary user must give you access to Voice Features before you can access voicemail online.
- Click the Trash folder on the left side of the screen.
- Click n the Options menu at the end of the voicemail.
- Choose Recover.

To recover more than one deleted voicemail:
- Sign in to Xfinity Voice using your Xfinity ID and password.
- You must be the Primary user or a Manager.
- Managers, the Primary user must give you access to Voice Features before you can access voicemail online.
- Click the Trash folder on the left side of the screen.
- Click the checkboxes next to the name in the voicemails to recover multiple voicemails.
- A check mark will show which voicemails you picked to recover.
- Select Actions at the top of the voicemail list.
- Choose Recover to move the voicemails back into the Voicemail folder.
