Sign up or access Peacock app FAQs

I want to subscribe to Peacock for the first time. Can I do that through Xfinity?
Yes, you can subscribe to Peacock through Xfinity.

Do I need to register or sign in to use the Peacock app?
Yes. See our Peacock app overview for more information.

Why can’t I access the Peacock app on my X1 TV Box?
If you don’t see Peacock content on your X1 TV Box, make sure you have:

  • A compatible X1 TV Box (RNG150 and Pace XG1v1 devices aren’t supported).
  • Xfinity Internet services (any level).

Can I watch the Peacock app anywhere other than my Xfinity TV Box?
You can, but you’ll need to set up your Peacock profile by following these steps:

  1. Using your X1, Xumo Stream Box, or Flex streaming TV Box: Launch the Peacock app.
  2. Then, register a new Peacock profile or log in to your current profile.
    • Once you’ve registered your profile on your TV Box, make sure you set a password. To do so, visit peacocktv.com/account and select I don’t know my password to complete your profile.

I don’t have Xfinity TV but I have Xfinity Internet. Can I access the Peacock app?
Yes. You’ll need a Xumo Stream Box, Xfinity Flex streaming TV Box, or one of the eligible third-party devices that support the Peacock app.

Can I still watch Peacock if I’m not an Xfinity customer?
Yes! You can sign up and learn more about the available tiers of Peacock at peacocktv.com.

What if I have issues with Peacock on my third-party device?
Go to peacocktv.com/help for help with troubleshooting.

How can I link my Peacock account to my Xfinity account?

How do I upgrade to Peacock Premium Plus?
Peacock Premium Plus is available for an additional cost with select plans:

  • Gig
  • Gig + Streaming
  • StreamSaver™
  • NOW StreamSaver™
  • NOW TV
  • Sports & News
  • World Soccer Ticket
  • NOW TV Latino
  • Certain benefit levels for Xfinity members

Account FAQs

What will happen to my Peacock account if I cancel my Xfinity service or change my Xfinity package?
If you:

  • Downgrade/change your Xfinity service by removing X1, Xumo Stream Box, or Flex:
    • You’ll no longer be able to access Peacock through your X1 TV Box, Xumo Stream Box, or Flex streaming TV Box.
      • You can only watch Peacock on your computer, mobile device or another internet-connected device.
  • Disconnect Xfinity Internet:
    • You’ll need internet access through another internet service provider or wireless internet service provider to access Peacock through an internet-connected device.
  • Remain subscribed to at least one Xfinity service and still get a billing statement from us:
    • You’ll continue to be billed for Peacock on your Xfinity bill.
  • Disconnect all your Xfinity services:
    • You’ll eventually lose access to Peacock.
      • Once access to your Peacock subscription is over, you can sign back up for Peacock through other internet-connected devices.

Notes:

  • Xfinity customers with a Peacock subscription billed by Xfinity who no longer have access to an X1 TV Box, Xumo Stream Box, or Flex streaming TV Box:
    • You can cancel your Peacock subscription billed by Xfinity by contacting us.
      • We can’t upgrade or downgrade your Peacock subscription.
        • If you wish to do so, cancel your Peacock subscription.
        • Once access to your Peacock subscription is over, sign up for other Peacock subscription tiers from peacocktv.com.

I signed up for Peacock through Flex, Xumo Stream Box, or X1, but I forgot my username or password. How do I find my username or reset my password?
Go to peacocktv.com to find your Peacock username or reset your password. Please note that any login issues with Peacock should be directed to Peacock Customer Support.

Does watching Peacock count against my Xfinity Internet data usage?
Yes, Peacock content is streamed from the internet and will count against your monthly data usage.

What if I need to change the email linked to my Peacock account?
To change the email address linked to your Peacock account on X1, Xumo Stream Box, or Flex, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to peacocktv.com/account on a web browser.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Update Email.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to update your email.

Please note that any login issues with Peacock should be directed to Peacock Customer Support.

How do I set up a profile in Peacock?
After you log in with your email address, select New Profile from the Who’s Watching? screen. See Peacock app on Xfinity Flex and Xfinity X1 for more information.

Why am I being asked to share my watch history in the Peacock app?
Sharing your watch history makes it easier to jump back into a movie or show you were watching right from X1, Xumo Stream Box, or Flex. Learn more from the Peacock overview.

Parental controls and accessibility FAQs

How do I enable closed captions while using Peacock?

Once a program begins playback, pause it. Go up and to the right to select Subtitles & Audio (the text bubble icon) to choose your preferred language option in subtitles. Allow 30 seconds for the subtitles to turn on.

How do I turn off closed captions while using Peacock?
While watching a program with closed captions enabled, pause it. Then, go up and to the right to select Subtitles & Audio (the text bubble icon) and select Off. Allow 30 seconds for the subtitles to turn off.

Are there any accessibility features?
Since this is a third-party application, most of your accessibility user preferences on X1, Xumo Stream Box, and Flex won't be in place when you launch the app for the first time. However, you can enable the app’s own accessibility features, which will vary within the app.

How do I block access to Peacock on X1/Xumo Stream Box/Flex?
There are several ways you can set parental controls for the Peacock app on X1/Xumo Stream Box/Flex.

  • Lock TV-MA content under Settings > Parental Controls > TV Rating Locks. Once locked, a Parental Control PIN is required before you can access the Peacock app.
  • You can block access to the Peacock app using App Locks.

General FAQs

Is Peacock in HD? In 4K/UHD?
Select titles in Peacock’s library content will stream in HD at 1080p or 720p. Peacock on X1/Xumo Stream Box/Flex supports 4K for select titles on 4K-enabled devices.

How can I get the new Multiview experience?
It is available through Peacock on X1, Xumo Stream Box and Flex, allowing Peacock subscribers to watch up to four events at once. This feature is not available on mobile or android tablets.

Please note, while using this feature, there will be a momentary delay in the broadcast feed.

I am using the Multiview feature and I saw a black screen flash momentarily, what do I do?
This is part of the intended experience. On 4K X1 devices that support the Multiview experience, transitioning audio between views is seamless. However, on legacy devices that support Multiview, when the customer switches audio between views they will experience a momentary flash/black screen. These impacted device models are the XiD, Xi5, XG1v3, and Pace XG2v2.

Can I use my DVR to record content in the Peacock app?
No, Peacock is a streaming application, and DVR doesn’t work in streaming applications like Peacock or Netflix.

Can I purchase movies and TV shows in the Peacock app?
No, all content in Peacock is part of your subscription. There are no purchases allowed in Peacock.

Where is Peacock available?
Peacock is currently available to stream within the United States and certain U.S. territories (American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands).
