View camera or video doorbell feeds from your X1 TV Box

Learn how to watch camera or video doorbell feeds directly from your X1 TV Box.

Use voice commands to view a camera or video doorbell feed

  1. Using your Xfinity Voice Remote, press the microphone button and say "Show me my cameras" or "Show me my doorbell."
    • This will open a thumbnail for each camera or video doorbell at the bottom of your screen.

    • The thumbnail is a recent snapshot from the camera's feed.
    • You may also specify which camera or video doorbell feed you would like to view.
      • For example, speak into your Voice Remote and say something like, "Show me front door camera."
  2. Click the thumbnail to view live video.

  3. If you have 24/7 Video Recording enabled for the selected camera or video doorbell (red dot REC on lower-left), press the down arrow button on your remote to view recordings of activity detected by your camera.
    • You can view all motion recordings or you can filter for recordings showing people or vehicles.

Use the Xfinity Home app to view a camera or video doorbell feed

  1. Press the xfinity button on your remote.
  2. Using the down arrow button, scroll to highlight Apps. Press the OK button.
  3. Using the right arrow button, scroll to highlight the Xfinity Home app. Press the OK button.
  4. Using the left arrow and right arrow buttons, navigate through your camera thumbnails, then press the OK button to view live video from the selected camera or video doorbell.

  5. If you have 24/7 Video Recording enabled for the selected camera or video doorbell (red dot REC in lower-right corner), recent recordings are automatically filtered based on category.
    • Select a category to see the related motion events for all cameras.
    • You can also select a category while watching TV. For example, say "Show me people clips," or "Show clips of cars."
    • To view all recordings say "Show me camera motion events."

  6. Select a camera or video doorbell to further filter your motion events.
    • Select the motion event thumbnail to view a recent clip.

Play recorded video

Cameras or video doorbells with 24/7 Video Recording record camera feed and create short video clips whenever the cameras detect motion. You can play back motion events on your X1 TV Box.

  • Select a motion event to play the recorded video.
  • You can restart the clip, navigate to the next or previous clip, or return to viewing the live camera feed.

View saved photos and videos

Manually saved photos and videos are no longer available on X1. You can view them on the Xfinity Home app (Xfinity Home or Xfinity Home — Automation).

Doorbell ring notifications for the Xfinity Video Doorbell

In addition to receiving a notification in the Xfinity app, the X1 platform will also send you a doorbell ring notification to alert you when someone has rung your Xfinity Video Doorbell. Clicking on the notification will bring you to the thumbnail or live video (depending on your video equipment).
