Learn how to set closed captioning (CC), audio description, and secondary audio program (SAP) options for the programs in the Xfinity Stream app on Android devices.
The Xfinity Stream app is available to all customers with Xfinity TV. Some features may vary depending on your services.

- Mobile device that meets app requirements.

CC, audio description, and SAP
CC, similar to subtitles, is a text transcript of the audio portion of a program as it occurs. It is useful any time the dialogue is difficult to hear or understand. See the CC overview to learn more.
Audio description describes what is happening in the program video, like actions, facial expressions, costumes, scene changes, and more. See what is audio description to learn more.
SAP is available for some programs. It offers other language soundtracks that let you listen to a program in a different language.
These options are not available for all programs.
Set up CC
To set options for CC:
- Tap your profile icon at the top left. This opens Settings.
- Tap Accessibility.
- Tap Closed captioning options.
- Tap the Show captions to turn on CC in the Caption Preferences screen.
- Under More options, you can select your preferred Language. Under Caption size and style, you can select your Text size and Caption style.
- As you select different options, the preview at the top of the window updates to show how the captions will look on screen.
That's it! Now whenever you watch a program that offers CC, captions will be displayed.
Did you know? You can also turn CC on or off while watching a program that includes CC.
Turn CC on or off while watching a program
You can easily turn CC on or off while watching any program that includes CC.
- Tap the screen to show the video controls.
- Tap the Settings (gear) icon at the bottom.
- Use the toggle to turn on CC. If the Closed captioning toggle is dimmed or isn't shown, CC isn't available for this program.
- This turns on CC for all programs, not just the one you're watching right now.
That's it! Now whenever you watch a program that offers CC, captions will show.

Turn audio description on or off in Settings
To turn Audio Description on or off in the app settings:
- Tap your profile icon at the top left screen. This opens Settings.
- Tap Accessibility.
- Tap the On/Off switch next to Audio Description.
That's it! Now whenever you watch a program that offers audio description, you'll hear the soundtrack.

- Tap the program picture.
- Tap the message icon at the bottom to open the Playback Controls.
- Tap Audio Options.
- Tap Audio Description to turn it on.
- To turn off Audio Description, tap a language (e.g., English).
- If the Audio Description isn't shown, it isn't available for this program.
- Tap OK to close the menu.
This setting applies only to this program. You can also turn audio description on or off for all programs.
Set up your preferred language for program audio
To turn on SAP and set your preferred language:
- Tap your profile icon at the top left. This opens Settings.
- Tap Accessibility.
- Tap the On/Off switch next to SAP.
- Pick your preferred language.
That's it! Now whenever you watch a program that offers an SAP in your preferred language, you'll hear that language.
Did you know? You can also select your preferred SAP language while watching any program that includes an SAP soundtrack in that language.
Change your preferred audio language while watching a program
You can easily change your preferred audio language while watching any program that includes a SAP.
- Tap the program picture.
- Tap the message icon at the bottom to open the Playback Controls.
- Tap Audio Options.
- Pick a language from the menu. If only one language is shown, SAP isn't available for this program.
- Tap OK to close the menu.
This setting applies only to this program. You can also change SAP options for all programs.
