Reset your Xfinity ID password

To help keep your account secure, reset or change your password regularly. We know it can be hard to keep track of multiple passwords, so follow these simple steps to protect your account.

Xfinity may ask you to reset or update your password from time to time. This can happen if:

  • There is a security risk.
  • There are new security rules.
  • We think your account information may have been exposed.

If we see activity that looks unusual, you may be asked to reset your password to keep your account safe.

Password tips

Your Xfinity ID password:

  • Must be between eight and 128 characters long.
  • Must include at least one number and a special character.
  • Cannot contain your name or username.

Do not use the same password for multiple accounts. Reusing passwords makes your accounts less secure if one is stolen.

Check out these tips for creating a stronger password.

Be aware:

  • If you are the Primary account holder and don't have a mobile number or non-Xfinity email address listed on your account, you can call or chat to add that information.
  • Each Manager, Member, or Viewer can update their password. If you cannot change your password because you don't have a mobile number or personal (non-Xfinity) email address on your account, you will need the primary account holder to do it for you.
    • Once you've reset your password, add a mobile number or email address to your profile to help with future password resets.

If you use a third-party email app for your Xfinity email, such as Outlook, Apple Mail, or Gmail, update your Xfinity password in that app.
